Union home minister Amit Shah has promised to give free gas cylinders to UPites within eight days of forming the new government in the state, after results are declared on March 10.

Addressing a public meeting in the heart of SP’s stronghold, Manipuri, the union home minister said, “by Holi everyone will get a free gas cylinder if BJP is voted to power”.

He also promised that farmers will not have to pay any electricity bills for the next five years.

Among the freebies announced by BJP while releasing its poll manifesto a week ago, they had announced two gas cylinders under Ujjwala scheme on Holi and Diwali festivals every year.

He said, “counting is on 10th and then comes holi celebration. Bring the BJP government to power in the state, free gas cylinders will be sent to your houses on March 18.

No farmers will have to pay electricity bills for the next five years.”

Lashing out at SP chief Akhilesh Yadav at his home turf, Shah said that criminal SP leaders like Azam Khan, Mau MLA Mukhtar Ansari and former Phulpur MP Atiq Ahmad, who are presently in jail, will be roaming free on streets if SP comes to power.

“Agar Akhilesh hai to bail milne wala hai… Yogi ji aaye to chain Milne wala hai” (If Akhilesh is voted to power, these criminals will be granted bail and if Yogi comes to power then people will get only peace,” he said.
