Haryana Election Results 2019 Live Updates: Close Fight Between BJP And Congress

As per the results , BJP appearing to be falling short of a majority in Haryana, a close fight between the BJP and Congress and JJP is likely to play kingmaker in the state.

Former Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda publicly asked Dushyant Singh Chautala and other independent candidates to join hands with Congress to keep the BJP out of power. “The time has come for Congress, JJP, INLD, and independents to come together and form a strong government with us,” Mr. Hooda said.

Hooda also took a dig at the BJP by saying “People who were singing slogans of crossing 75, today are reduced to 30-35 seats,” he said.

Congress candidate Pardeep Chaudhary won Kalka seat with 5760 votes whereas Haryana BJP president Subhash Barala offers to resign as the party struggles to reach the majority mark.

“Haryana has given the verdict — it will not tolerate BJP’s misgovernance any more. Choosing to leave behind the maladies inflicted on its people in the last 5 years, the state is ready to embrace a new dawn of justice &equality under the leadership of Congress,” the Haryana Congress chief Kumari Selja said.

“The way these trends are showing, it is clear people voted for change,” Mr. Chautala said, adding, “The keys to the next government will be in the hands of the JJP.” Both the BJP and Congress have started backchannel talks with the JJP leadership to get the party’s support to form government in the state.
