Obama congratulates India’s PM Singh

President Barack Obama on Saturday congratulated Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by phone on his swearing in for a second term. Obama “also congratulated India on successfully completing the largest democratic exercise that the world has ever seen, calling it a testament to the strength of India’s democracy,” the White House said in a statement.

Over 60 percent voter turnout in first phase
