Chief election commissioner VS Sampath declared the dates in a press discussion. The two election commissioners HS Brahma and SNA Zaidi were also present at that moment.

Poll first phase will in process on April 7, 2014 which will be adhered in two estates and six parliamentary electorate will be capped. The alternative phase of poll on April 9 will cover seven counties in five estates.

The third phase on April 10 to capped 92 counties in 14 states and the fourth day of poll on April 12 to cover three estates and five counties.

The fifth will be on April 17 which will capped 13 estates and UTs and 122 counties and sixth phase will be on April 24, shelter 12 estates and 117 counties.

The seventh phase will be adhered on April 30 to cover nine estates and 89 counties, eighth phase on May 7 will cover seven estates and 64 counties and the end and ninth phase on will be on May 12 and cover 3 estates and 41 counties.

He said that the model code of policy has come into actual reaction. It prevents the government from making any judgment that can be look as influencing voters. It also proscribes political parties from making debatable allegations against adversary.

Number of voter are expanded this year stands at 81.4 crore and has expanded by 10 crore as related to the last parliamentary elections in 2009.

There has been a 12% rise in the figure of polling stations in the country with 9,30,000 stations this year. There were 8.3 lakh stations in the last elections, the chief election administrator told reporters.

Andhra Pradesh, along with the regions composes Telangana, Odisha and Sikkim will go to polls to elect new association.

The result to announce the dates to elect 543 members of Lok Sabha was taken by Sampath after a list of meeting on Tuesday and firming up of the security plan.

First time in India voters will also be able to dismiss all applicants with none of the above (NOTA) buttons on 1.5 million electronic voting machines (EVMs).

The EC is going to experiment with verifiable paper trail system with EVMs in about 10,000 polling booths.

In this 16th Lok Sabha general elections rulling UPA who is having 232 members and will face Bharatiya Janta (BJP-NDA) Party spirited challenge. The NDA has 132 members at present.
